In my sex coaching practice, one question I frequently get is if a person has a wet dream or dream sex with someone other than his or her boy/girlfriend, partner, or spouse if it is considered cheating? Especially if they know their dream partner in the physical reality – a co-worker, business partner, spouses’ friend, etc…
First thing I ask them is if they had a good time in the dream. I usually get a sheepish grin and a whisper of a “yeah.” Which brings me to ask, do you feel guilty because you had a good time? That you were sexually turned on and it led to a physical orgasm (and also for men – ejaculation)?
Some say yes right away. While most say no — and then add — am I supposed to feel guilty?
My response: You can feel however you want to feel. I’m not one to tell you how to feel. All I do is give you suggestions on what to do. And even then it is up to you to follow them.
When you have dream sex or a wet dream with another and you were not the one to start it (you weren’t thinking about them as you fell asleep), then the odds are high that either they were thinking of you or their higher self felt the need to connect to you.
If you’re able to lucid dream and control what is happening in your dream, you have a choice whether to stick around, wake up, or head to a new location. If you do not know how to lucid dream, you’re pretty much at the mercy of the dream until you wake yourself up.
When it comes to feeling guilty or not is , as I’ve said, up to you, but if you look forward more to going to sleep in hopes of hooking up with your dream sex date, instead of being awake with your partner — then its starting to be an issue.
If in a relationship and engaging in dream sex/wet dreams, it should compliment the relationship, not distract from it.
Is a wet dream/dream sex a good idea? From my perspective – yes. As long as you’re not substituting dream sex for physical sex with a partner.
