Love often shows up as a mystery: a brief encounter, a song that lands in the exact moment you need it, or a person who appears like a mirror for parts of you you didn’t know existed. Who Are Spirit Guides?

Spirit guides come in many forms – ancestors, animal guides, angelic helpers, teachers from other realms, and even people who lived brief lives but left a powerful energetic impression. Some arrive at birth, some join during a life pivot, and some attach to a particular mission: safety, creativity, healing, or, in our case, love and soulful connection.

Guides don’t make decisions for you. They are orchestrators and translators – moving energy, opening doors, placing clues in your path, and nudging you away from patterns that would cause harm or repeat old wounding. They work with your free will; they make it easier to notice what’s aligned.

My Guide: Andrew — A Story from the Heart

I want to tell you about one of my guides, Andrew. He’s a tender, funny presence in my life and not who most people expect. Andrew was my deceased grandma’s first husband; he died very young from pneumonia. He’s been near me since childhood in small, gentle ways, but his presence became unmistakable in the mid-2010s.

When I released Out of Body Ecstasy back then, Andrew tried to help me, quietly nudging possibilities, leaning into the background when I had dream visits that felt like more than dreams. I blew him off that first time. I was busy, defensive, trying to do everything on my own. He retreated, but he didn’t leave.

Now, with Soulful Connections on the horizon, Andrew has returned with a less shy energy. He comes to me in dreams. Sometimes as a clear figure, sometimes simply as warmth at my shoulder, a whisper in my ear. Other times, he’s at the edge of a dream visit when I connect with a soul – there in the background like an old friend giving a thumbs-up.

What does Andrew actually do? He’s a soft voice that helps me recognize when my heart is ready to feel, not just to protect itself. He taught me that loving means risking — that the wounds we get are not proof that we failed, but proof we were brave enough to open. That lesson is one reason I started my live TikTok show, Love Notes: to create a space where we practice receiving love and giving it back, messy, imperfect, and beautiful.

This time, I’m letting Andrew help. He’s not here to find me a fairytale partner – he’s here to help me show up fully, to feel what love makes possible, and to trust that even heartbreak brings a kind of growth I wouldn’t trade for certainty.

Your guides are often subtle communicators. Watch for these common signs:

• Synchronicities — unexpected meetings, repeated symbols, or lyrics that land on cue.

• Repeating numbers — a sequence that shows up whenever you think about dating or a particular person.

• Intuitive nudges — an internal “no” or “yes” that arrives without obvious reason.

• Protective shifts — situations that shift at the last second to prevent something unaligned from happening.

When these happen, pause and listen. Your guides are using the world around you as a language.

A Spirit-Guide Love Connection Practice (with Andrew’s Blessing)

Use this ritual to invite guidance — including the gentle, steady help of guides like Andrew – into your love life.

1. Create sacred space. Sit quietly with a candle. Hold a love ally crystal (rose quartz or moonstone) and keep a small journal nearby.

2. Set your intention aloud. Say: “Guides, and Andrew in particular, if there is someone aligned with my highest good, help me recognize them and show me the signs clearly.”

3. Listen with breath. Breathe slowly for three minutes. With each exhale, soften into the body’s sensations. With each inhale, invite clarity.
