Energetic Self Containment: Staying Open Without Leaking Power
By Allie Theiss, MSc, CSC, ABS
Energy Worker, Psychic, & Soul Connection Guide
Self-containment does not mean closing yourself off.
It means remaining inside your own body while the connection occurs.
Energetic self-containment in intimacy allows openness without losing internal stability.
Many people associate openness with expansion outward.
The energy body responds differently.
True openness happens when energy circulates internally before moving toward another.
When containment is present, desire builds naturally.
Sensation has time to deepen.
Attraction feels grounded instead of urgent.
Leaking power happens quietly.
Attention leaves the body and stays externally oriented.
Connection begins to cost more energy than it returns.
Self-containment reverses that flow.
Energy remains anchored while interaction continues.
Desire stays intact because nothing essential is being lost.
This is not a mindset.
It is a physical and energetic state that the body recognizes immediately.
Awareness is the entry point.
A Practice for Energetic Self-Containment in Intimacy
This practice can be done alone or while interacting with someone.
- Begin by sitting or standing comfortably. Let your weight settle into whatever is supporting you. Notice gravity without adjusting posture.
- Bring attention to the inside of your chest.
- Shift awareness slightly downward toward the lower belly.
- Allow sensation to exist there without directing it anywhere.
- Now notice where your attention usually goes.
- See whether it tends to move outward toward another person or situation.
- Gently invite it back into your body.
- Nothing needs to be visualized.
- Breathing does not need to be controlled. The body already knows how to hold itself.
- Stay with this for thirty to sixty seconds. Connection can still happen during this time.
What changes is the direction of energy. Instead of reaching forward, energy circulates internally first.
Magnetism forms through retention rather than pursuit.
How Do You Know Containment Is Working?
The body gives subtle feedback.
Breath slows without effort.
Sensation becomes fuller rather than scattered.
Desire may feel quieter but more stable.
Attraction sharpens instead of pulling.
Presence replaces urgency.
Over time, this state becomes familiar.
You immediately notice when energy starts to leak.
Containment becomes the default rather than a technique.
Practicing energetic self-containment helps prevent energy leakage in relationships while supporting desire, presence, and attraction.
Openness does not require self-abandonment.
Erotic self-authority lives in the balance between connection and containment.
